Dry Fig Kalamata
The Kalamata dried fig has a special place among other fruits, because it is a delicious, nutritious and healthy fruit.
It is naturally sun-dried and contains no added chemicals or preservatives. It is a rich source of natural energy for humans because it contains useful minerals and fibre, which makes it sought after and irreplaceable.
The figs are processed under appropriate technological and hygiene standards. It is cultivated from April to October and harvested from August to October.
PRODUCTION PROCESS
After harvesting, the figs are dried naturally in the sun. It is divided into categories according to size. There are 3 main categories
- FIGS A – < 65 FIGS/KG
- FIGS B – 66-75 FIGS/KG
- FIGS C – > 76-90 FIGS/KG
Then in a deep-freezing chamber it is dewormed in a completely natural way to avoid insects. After the fumigation process, the dried figs are washed in hot water and dried in suitable drying machines, and then taken to the final product standardisation banks.
The special and innovative packaging materials used by the company create a final product of high aesthetics and taste. The shelf life of Kalamata dried figs is 12 months from the date of packaging.
